The Tummy Traveler

Gosh, I’m sooooooo paranoid about what I will & won’t download…so many people think it’s funny to try and give you a virus.. :l

Most music blogs and music blog searches will turn up results that are safe. Nearly all torrents are safe. Viruses aren’t that prevalent unless you are a really sketchy site or if you are still using P2P software like Kazaa, Limewire, etc.

P2P software like Limewire is also a perfectly easy way to get the RIAA on your trail.

also, you could buy a mac for extra security =] haha.

You could also get an IP switcher. It switches your IP address every few minutes or whatever setting you have it on.

Setup a firewall…it’ll help a little with the trackers on torrents.

Use a proxy computer. :) I do this one. Use a computer that isn’t connected to you or your friends. Just a random computer out in the middle of no where. My friend uses one that was setup via 3rd party in Sweden I think. Then he has another one at his friends house that is protected by a Cisco Enterprise Firewall. Those all work well….

Change your ports on the torrent programs. uTorrent allows this I believe. You can change the ports that are open and protected. Don’t use the normal torrent port, make your own and use the port forwarding utility to enabled pass-through on your firewall. This will make it harder to spot. The RIAA and such people look at the most commonly used ports and those around them. Use a REALLY random port…like one used for typical M$ services.

Hope this helps on your endeavour to digital file freedom ^___^
